Part 3: Reliving Missing Childhood In HK Disneyland.

Whenever we tell friends that we went to Disneyland while we were in HongKong, it usually followed by these few common responses... "Nothing much right?" or "Damn small hor?" or "Do you feel like being cheated?", or...

Whenever we asked friends of their HK Disneyland trip, it will always be... "Nothing much to see also" or "Hiyah... half day also can finish the whole park" or "Not worth going at all".
The man and I were scratching our head in total confusion after our virgin trip there recently and wonders where did we went wrong cause we actually enjoyed it immensely!!
The magic of Disney started in Sunny Bay MTR station itself the moment this cute Disney's themed train rolled into the station.  Everyone were gasping in excitement!
The interior of this cute train were decorated with many different Disney's characters like this one here.  Seats were lined with posh royal blue fabrics dotted with little stars and even the handles on the railing are of Mickey's head.  Super cute!!!
Arrived at the Disneyland Resort Station, a MTR station specially dedicated to Disneyland.  We were caught in awe the very moment we stepped off the train into the station.
Totally differen from the other MTR staions.  Felt a little like Platform 9¾ from Harry Potter.  Hehehe
It took us so long to get to the ticket counters cause we were just strolling along taking in everything, beautiful landscaped, cartoon themed...
... and went crazy cam-whoring.  I meant me.  Had a field day being a kid all over again!  Like a friend said... reliving my missing childhood....lols
A glorious fountain with classic disney cartoons - Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald Duck and etc...
The entrance into Disneyland (ticket booths area).

The ticket booths even comes with Mickey window!  Cute!  I tell you, if I were a kid arr... I'll be like super excited lor... everything is like so cute like that...!
I had a Mickey ticket and Harrison had a Goofy ones.

Note: HKD350/adult for a Day Pass.
"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy" How appropriate!
"I am singing in the sun......"
Ta ta...
Adventure Land first.
That's Tarzan's tree house across the river!
The boat ride that took us round the Tarzan's island.
Took a raft across onto Tarzan's island after that.
Went on Tarzan's tree house.  As we climbed from bottom to top, it tells the story of Tarzan, from baby to adult.
Snapshot from top of the tree house :)
Met these two pirates along the way, somewhere in Adventure land.  They looked very cynical.  It just felt strange seeing Chinese face mascots or whatever you called them.  It's like what I always tell my mom, that I refused to go HK Disney cause I don't want to be greeted by Mickey Mouse speaking in Cantonese.  It just feel weird.  Yeah, I know, I am eating back my words right now... :p
Checking out Disneyland Emporium.
Awe... so sweet....lols..zZzzz..... *snore*
Orchestra playing all those Disney's tunes... really, it makes the whole atmosphere somehow magical.  Like being zapped back into somewhere warm and fuzzy and happy.  When things only revolves around what time the cartoon will be aired on tv.
The main street!
Check out my Mickey's ice cream.  Hehehe....
The parade!  It was so jam packed with people on both sides of the street who actually started to wait there an hour prior to the parade time.  Crazy.  Since we just so happened passing by and definately can't squeeze to the front, we decided to just head down to 'Fantasy Land' thru Sleeping Beauty's Castle!
Sleeping Beauty Castle!
Pooh Corner!  Love the signboard.  Love the castle background.  Love us in the picture.  Sweet!
Btw, they have machines like this all over the park which allows you to collect it's coin.  Just drop HKD10 coins into it and pick the designs you like.  You'll get to see the process of how it is being pressed!  Neat right.
The pressed coins.  We didnt collect all of them.  We just picked those we like.  You can actually buy an album from the emporium to put these coins in.

I was happy being in Disneyland.  But not quite that happy yet.  The feelings were rather disconnected.  You get what I mean?  We are afterall, not children.  It was pretty difficult to bring out that part of us after SOOO many years.. hehehehe...
Not until I get myself a pair of these.... =) Minnie Mouse ears!!!  My Disney magic.  Now I AM in Disneyland!! :)
You can tell by the silhouette that's me in 'Small Small World'.
From my memories of mom's photos taken of Tokyo's Disneyland, this one here is really living up to it's name.  It was really small.  I thought those in Tokyo looks much much bigger than this.
Two adults reliving lost childhoods.  Lols...
I made him went on this ride with me.
You got it right.  We went on the 'Mad Hatter Tea Cups' - the spinning teacup ride.  Who cares if it is a little childish.  We had so much fun laughing and spinning away.  It was crazy.  Only if the ride last longer...
High School Musical Parade.  Again, felt weird seeing Asian's faces dancing away yelling *Wild Cat*!
From 'Fantasy Land', we for 'Space Mountain' ride next, in 'Tomorrow Land.  Didn't take picture cause it was a roller coaster ride.  I tell you, it was so funny.  We didn't know it was a roller coaster ride.  Thought it was something like those earlier rides.  Just another mild ones.  So when it started to go faster and faster and began to drop, I thought to myself... "Shoot, the man sure gonna think I conned him into the ride!".  And true enough, after the ride, he said halfway thru, he was thinking... "Kena conned by silly girl to go onto a rollercoaster ride!".  I tell you arr, when you are together for 8 over years arr, you practically don't need to talk to each other to know what the other is thinking...lols.
Possessed by my Minnie ears and now, went crazy with Mickey's giant hand too...
We seriously don't know who these cartoons are.... they just kept blabbering away in Cantonese...lols..
Had late lunch in a fast-food outlet there.  Though the food were rather yucky but what the heck as long as they have Mickey's shaped pudding (which is also yucky)!  Lols... I actually did asked around to see if they have Mickey's shaped burger... unfortunately they don't. :p
Light Buzz Year!  I insists I look cuter!
The castle at night.  Relatively small compared to others.
Fireworks were being set off into the sky making the castle even prettier!  I was busy clicking away at first until a point when I realized most of my pictures looks like the whole castle being set on fire rather than fireworks and I decided to just enjoy the scene instead of taking pictures.
The beautiful castle made with Swarosky Crystals.
Me & carved Mickey Mouse.  Love this Mickey so much.  Very nice.
Mr RedIndian ignored me, Ms RedBabe... *smooch*
Actually, we had take it pretty easy the whole day we were there in Disneyland.  We just take our time, enjoying the atmosphere cause we planned to turn our Day Pass into an Annual Pass so that we get to come back again the next day.  From the flyer, it says we could turn our Day Pass into an Annual Pass for just HKD300/person.   Unfortunately, only after we completed filling up the forms, we were told that the HKD300/person upgrade is only for weekday entries.  As the next day is a Sunday (a weekend), it defeats the purpose.
Prettily lighted up 'Main Street USA' with the castle lighted in blue at the far end.  So pretty.  The cool weather does create a different atmosphere/feelings altogether.
Cute showcase.  So nicely done up.
This Minnie is so huge and lovely and cushy, price tagged at HKD500++.  So tempted to grab it home.
Left Disneyland finally.  About the last to leave.  Nice.  No crowd finally!
The MTR station beautifully lighted up at night.
Our loots from the magical land.
Oh look... who's back with us in the hotel?  Just couldn't resists.  At least something cushy to hug to sleep in that miserable hotel room...hehehe... No, these are not as big as the one I hugged earlier.  A size smaller. :)

Despite of whatever other's commented on the HK Disneyland, we both, full grown adults, had a great time there and were sorry to leave come end of the day.  Probably cause with all those negative feedbacks, we just go with zero expectation, took our own sweet time, absorbing the atmosphere,  being mesmerized with everything it has to offer.  Personally, I just feel that every kid has to go Disneyland at least once (even if it's Mickey speaks cantonese) before they grow up.  It really does feel magical!
