Wishing upon the moon...

Took this on 28th Feb 2010, also Chap Goh Mei (last day of CNY) with my newly acquired 55-250mm lens. I was told, if I wished upon the moon on that day, especially when the clock strikes at midnight on the eve, my wishes will come true. :) Now, let's just wait and see... eh, wait a minute, what did I wished for already?

I did it !!

Finally... after dragging on for so long... not that I am stupid, really. Just that I am too laid back. Hahahaha.... It was a pleasant surprise when I got back from Kuching. Definitely didnt expect this to be waiting for me in the mailbox. Thought I need to do one more paper before I can get the Diploma because of some changes in their syllable. Thank God they accepted my appeal ;) Finally, one thing down. Now I can pursue something I really like. ;) Oh, did I mentioned that I got a 'B' instead of an 'A' for my QM? Thought it was easy. Anyhow, nevermind la...

Seeing Balloons Finally!

Camera, checked. Battery, checked. Memory card, checked, checked, checked! And off I went down to Putrajaya again. A girlfriend came by my place at 7:30am and we went together gether... Unfortunately, the sun sucks that morning. It was gloomy.

The crowd was crazy that morning. By time we arrived, there were no longer any parkings left. People normally wake up so early one arr??? Mad.

Anyway, there was also a long queue when we were there. Apparently it was to purchase ticket for a ride on the hot air balloon. I overheard that those people actually started to queue since 3am. So nice to ride meh???

And the best part was, the balloon for visitors to ride on was tied to the ground and it only goes up and down. Not as if it goes around Putrajaya or what... crazy. Queue from 3am?? No thank you.

That's about it. The gloomy weather spoiled my mood to experiment. Well, at least something la..

I absolutely hate myself today. Woke at 7:30, got ready, drove all the way to Putrajaya (about 30+km away) for a hot air balloon event. Arrived, took out my camera and begin to shoot. 5 pictures later, realized I did not have a memory card in my camera. Forgotten to put it back in after I took it out the other day. I so so hate myself. The husband is going to have a good laugh today.

The Pro Movers

As we were unpacking and organizing the new place and at the same time, yakking away, a colleague who is also a really close friend asked "Eh gladys, including this time, how many times have you shifted?" and I replied "Errm... wait a minute, let me count"... and all of us laughed.

1995 : Moved from Kluang to SS2, Petaling Jaya
1997 : Moved from SS2 to Damansara Kim
1999 : Moved from Damansara Kim to Taman Megah
2000 : Moved from Taman Megah to Subang Court 8
2001 : Moved from Subang Court 8 to Court 9
2002 : Moved office from Phileo to Kelana Square
2007 : Shifted office from Kelana Square to Taman Megah
2008 : Helped parents-in-law to shift house
2008 : Shifted from Court 9 to Taman Desa
2009 : Moved from back room to middle room
2009 : Moved from middle room to front room
2009 : Shifted remaining items from Court 9 to Taman Desa
2010 : Shifted office from Taman Megah to Kota Damansara

Freaking 13 times over a span of 15 years. Averaging it out, once every 14 months.... lols... total madness. She asked "You must have phobia at it already...hahaha..." and I went "No, it had became my hobby. Can't wait for another shifs... :p"... hahaha

Anyway, we all agreed that I am quite pro at this moving/shifting business already... hahaha

The new premise is slowly looking more and more like a real office. Completed the major shifting two days ago. Now taking five from unpacking boxes after boxes of 'rubbish' to enjoy a mug of hot coffee. My boss is taking off to London today and be back in a week's time. Hallelujah...! At least I get to slowly organise my stuff in peace. With him around, the 'kan cheong tai si' (the master of worry), it is difficult to get anything done. Really... Lols.... Let's pop the champagne!

Beautiful Saturday Morning

Today is one of those few weekends that I miraculously rise early. Earlier than my normal work days even. I enjoy quiet morning like this before the traffics head out in vengeance. Cool & crisp air... birds singing in the distance... sweet aroma of coffee filling up the air... I call morning like these 'my morning'. There is something to it that is very close to heart that I just couldn't pin point. It doesn't happen in my quiet afternoon or evening or night. Just in the morning. Between 8am to 10:00am. A strange period of time that makes me feel happy, safe and peaceful and hopeful even.

The only things that are missing though to idealized this already perfect morning would be the scent of nature - plants, freshly cut grass, dew, fogs & etc, and the sound of cartoons airing over television.

I love watching cartoons on a weekend morning. Unfortunately, I don't have such luxury anymore cause (1) I hardly wakes before 11am on weekends (2) we don't subscribe to cartoon channels and (3) even if we did subscribe, they airs different kind of cartoons these days as compared to MY time in the 80's.

During MY time, we have 'Jem and the Hologram'. Though I don't understand what they were talking about (my English was very poor then), I enjoyed it immensely. Jem was very glamourous and I wish I was her... but I also knew I was not much of a singer even then. Lols... Other than Jem, we also have...

'My Little Pony' - about cute little pastel colour horses and unicorns...

'Carebears' - bears that emits different powers... rainbows, stars, sunshine, love and so forth. Love how they can snug cozily on the clouds. Wish I could too. That's also about the time when I start to always look at at the sky and day dream bouncing on the clouds like the bears...

'The Smurfs' - I still hummed its tune every now and then...

Voltron - 5 lions when combined, makes a huge robot. My favourite lion, the blue one...

Of course, 'Transformers' too - vehicles that can transformed into robots. I wanna be the good blue truck!
The old fashion 'Mickey & Friends' that don't ask questions and answer them themselves...

'Doraemon' - I always imagine how wonderful life would be if I have that helicopter thingy on my head or that magical door that can open up to anywhere I wish to be or that I can just sit on the roof like how they always do enjoying a beautiful quiet night/sunrise/sunset.

Sigh... those were the days. Cartoons these days are so different from those in MY time. We don't have 3D, 4D, or whatever other Ds. We don't have complicated story lines. We don't have plots within plots. It was always simple and straight forward with a moral lesson at the end of it. I don't even understand cartoons these days. Lost it half way thru most of the time. Am sure it was the cartoon. Not me. Hahaha...

Anyway, I guess mornings like today just reminded me of mornings like how it used to be. Mornings when air was fresher. Mornings when things were much simpler. I love MY mornings.
