Sweet Serendipity

I first came to KL in 1995.  Rented a room and had my laundry done at a laundrette across the street.  Day in day out, I would send my laundry like any other day.  Started my first job in 1996 and bought a nice suit for more than RM200.  It was pretty expensive by my standard at that time.  Instead of sending it for regular cleaning, I opted for dry cleaning instead thinking that the they would be extra careful with it.  Unfortunately, it came back with a broken zip.  I made a hoo haa out of it and they agreed to had it fixed.

One fine day in 1997, decided to pay a visit to my paternal grandparents in JB as well as my dad whom I've not seen since I was 8.  I don't even know how they look like.  While I was there, wanting me to know more about MY family, my grandparents brought out some recent photos of that time, to show me who is who in the family.  It was taken at a funeral of a family matriarch in Sabah (I think.. not too sure still).  And one by one, my Grandpa was pointing out to me... "This is you Granduncle no.2, no.3, no.4.......".  When he came to granduncle no.7, I thought he looked awfully familiar.  It then dawn on me he was my laundry man!  OMG.... ! o.O I hoo-ed haa-ed with my Granduncle no.7 over some rotten zip.. :p  shoot!  Anyway, he learned of my existence after that and I even went to his home once for his son's (my uncle's) wedding.  Skipped the dinner though cause I had a bad fall that resulted a bad ankle as big as a watermelon.  Missed an opportunity to meet strangers who are MY family.

Over the decade, my grandpa & dad had passed on and I somehow had lost contact with the only granduncle I knew.  Tried visiting but wasn't exactly sure which house it was.  Strange but all memories just simply wiped clean.  And so, I just let it be.  Never thought of asking though.

Then, couple of weekends ago, as I was browsing thru FB while we were at Mont Kiara chilling out with the car boys, came across a photo of a girlfriend of mine (car/dog/run friend) taken with her mom.  I don't usually look at friends photos, more so to click on one. So it is weird when I clicked on her's.  I almost choke on my coffee when the photo pops up enlarged.  I was so kancheong that I forgotten that I have her mobile no in my phone and FB message her instead.

Holyshit right... what's the odd?  Meeting a family by coincidence twice?!  I still couldn't quite believe it.  A girlfriend is now a FAMILY! :)  How nice is that??  Not just some distance relative but pretty 'close' too.  Imagine this, she and my dad shares the same Grandpa?  This is neat right....  I better be more careful with my other friends who shares the same surname.  For all you know, could be family too... :p hehehehe...

I guess this is what they called 'Fate'.  What a sweet serendipity!   *love*

Weighty Issue

I've piled on some weights and very adamant on loosing them.  I told the husband I planned to get a digital scale so that it will show my weight down to every gram.  He rolled his eyes.

We have a old scale at home which I think were a little kuku.  I asked him... "How much you weight at home?"  He replied... "75kg".  "How much you weight at gym?" "73kg".  So if at gym I weight 60kg, I should be weighing approximately 58kg at home?  He went... "yeah" before rolling his eyes.

I was still not convinced and kept going on and on about it.  After awhile, he shifted his attention from the Ipad and said these... "Look, gym's scale has been tempered with.  They purposely added a few pound to it to motivate people to workout more."

I just went... "oh yeah hor.... eh, you quite smart le.... "  before he rolled his eyes at me again. Well, it does make sense right.  For now, let's just hope I don't come across another scale that jive with the ones at gym.

My 5 Carats Diamond Ring

My Valentine's Day present..... hahahaha....

Things were rather crazy at work on the day of LOVE.  Won't even realized it if not for those flower delivery boys zooming in and out of the office every now and then delivering pretty bouquets to even prettier girls.

When I got home late in the evening, the husband said he got something for me.  I was asked to close my eyes and so I did just that.  Felt something being slid into my finger.  Too light to be a jewellery.  Doesn't felt like anything I have in mind.  When I opened my eyes and saw this origami ring, I just laughed my heart out.  It was so funny.  The husband actually learned to fold a ring out of a RM50 note! This is so cool!!  It just amuses me so much!  Especially so coming from him.  Lols...
Work has been rather hectic since after CNY holiday.  Got home pretty late every evening and there goes our 'cooking and eating in' plan.  Hate going out for dinner especially on Valentine's Day - over priced & over packed places + bad services.  We decided to try our luck at this particular Iranian restaurant in Solaris which we have been wanting to try out for some time - Naab.

Luckily for us, it was not pack with lovey dovey couples.. hehehe...  I guess western dinners would be a better hit for them (oh yeah, with candlelights too)..hehehe....  We had a great quiet Iranian dinner there sitting out at the patio watching the traffic going by.  It was still badly jammed up at 11:00pm.  The traffic had been horrifying the entire day.  Probably cause the guys are busy running around whole day finishing up works and rushing to get presents then picking up their girlfriend/wive whereas the girls were probably rushing about getting their hair and nails done to prepare for the night.  Hahahaha.... ahh... those were the days.... hahahahaha....

Anyway, we had a great 'another day'.  Nothing extraordinary except for my 5 carats diamond ring.... hahaha...  The dinner was awesome but definitely won't be going back so soon.  It's just too fattening.  :)

9th Day of CNY

Chinese New Year come, Chinese New Year go.  As the clock struck at 12 midnight on the 8th day of CNY, fireworks can be seen blasted in the air all over our neighbourhood, fire crackers can be heard from blocks away, and....  our 4 dogs, were driving us mad.  One was found sitting on our window sill trying to climb into the house.  Another was at the back trying to chew off the plastic sheet fastened on the grill thinking he could get into the house if he chew it off. The two smallies were whining and whining.  OMG.... I am so done with dogs this lifetime.

Fill My Heart With LOVE!

Relatives
Relatives are the support system of the family. In times of crisis and in times of happiness, no matter what situation you are in, you always find relatives by your side to help you come out of it. Relatives share the burden of your sorrow and grief and double the essence of happiness.

My relatives are never the support system of the family.  In times of crisis, they hide to avoid involvement.  In times of happiness, they hide too because they are so full of jealousy.  No matter what situation I am in, I can never find relatives by my side to help me come out of it.  My relatives never share the burden of my sorrow and grief but double the essence of it.  Awesome right!  Yay!

We are never given a chance to choose a family. Family is essentially made of those people who look after, who play a crucial role in our upbringing and who teach us such lessons in life, which can never be learned through any textbook.

Yup, we are born into a family.  No choices.  Maybe we did have.  There must be a certainreason why I chose mine.  Tough luck.  Strangely, my family is essentially made of those people who don't really look after us but take advantage instead.  Who did, in a way, play a crucial role in our upbringing and who teaches us lessons in life, which can never be learned through textbook - watching our own backs and ensuring we are not backstabbed.

9/1/2012, 10.09pm (16th day lunar calendar)

This linen washing is really an embarrassment.  But then again, behind every closed door, there is a story.  Mine is complicatedly strange.  Not even sure what it was actually.  Year after year, somehow, there sure to be some kind of hurtful episodes.  It never fails.  One thing or the other.  Over time, I sort of  toughen up and got immune with it.  Lashed back irregardless of seniority whenever I am threatened.  Distanced myself too especially so after PP's passing.  The last ugliness was my cue to leave.

There are many things we must learn to let go in life and that includes people too.  I read somewhere that letting go doesn't mean giving up but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be mend.  We just need to let go and move on so that we can fulfill our life path that is awaiting us ahead.  By refusing to let go of the pain, it will be tougher to let love in again.  On this, I am still learning.  :)

Oh LOVE! please fill my heart.  :)

Boxing, Unboxing & Cooking

Steamed Egg With Minced Pork & Stir-fried Potato

We have taken to eating at home more.  Missed simple home cooking.  We had these last night. :)

CNY is around the corner.  The festive holiday will be starting tomorrow.  Don't need to wake at 7am for the next 9 days.  Happiness to the max!  I am looking forward to the sleeping in and lazing around more than the festivity of it.  Lols...

Not much CNY atmosphere this year.  Didn't even bother to put up any CNY deco at home.  Most of it has already been boxed up months ago in preparation of moving which has been delayed. :p  Too lazy to dig them out.

Same goes for the kitchen utensils.  All boxed, and then unboxed cause we simply missed home cooked food. :p
