A Gist of Everything For The Last 3 Weeks

Finally, concluded our 5d/4n travelogue to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon).  :)  So tiring.  No, not the travelling part.  It is actually the blogging part that  is tiring...hehehehe... The brain already automatically stored all info the moment the holiday ended and the need to recall what happened during the trip is draining.  :p  Next time should blog immediately after the trip or better still, at the end of that particular day.  But then hor, I think I not so rajin la.... :p

Before I start with another travelogue, I just wanna cut long story short, and share just photos of what took place this past three weeks besides HCM.
So many happenings during these past two weeks when we got back from HCM as well as 1 week before HCM.  Tak sempat to blog it in time.  Let's just start with the adhoc trip to Ipoh which took place the weekend before HCM.
After our batik painting workshop, got home about 3ish, packed an overnight bag and off we went to Ipoh to meet up with the Altezza boys who were on their way back from Penang.  They were on a 3d/2n thingy (KL-Penang-Ipoh-KL).  We just joined them on the second leg cause I NEED to paint batik.  :p

We arrived Ipoh at about 7pm and checked into Excelsior Hotel.  A rather old but clean hotel.  Pictures here are taken from our room on the 10th floor (I think).  Though strange, the openable window allows me a clear picture :).  Strange cause I seldom find high floors hotel's room windows openable for safety concern.  Anyway, moving on...
We did the standard stuff anyone would do when they are in Ipoh.  We went for the famous 'Ipoh Nga Choy Kai' (Ipoh Beansprout Chicken) which was just right below the street from where we stayed.  The verdict: Ok la... like any normal nga choy kai except they have fatter beansprout.  :p
After dinner, our Ipoh host brought us to this place called D'Nest for some clubbing.  I tell you... the crowd there all like jinjang beng like that. But then again, all of was also quite lala also la that night.  Most of us were just wearing shorts and t-shirts and I was still wearing the same shirt and shorts from the Batik Painting session earlier... hehe...

Some of the guys were not allowed into the club due to the flip flops they were wearing unless they wear socks with it...  and naturally, socks are sold at the counters.  I really dont understand the rationale behind it lor... what difference does it make with socks or without?  Still flip flops right?

The atmosphere inside were pretty rowdy towards midnight.  Other than the standard loud musics and dancing, they have singing performances too.  We left shortly after the performances.  Went for some supper of bbq chicken wings & prawn mee before we call it a night.

Next morning, we went for some really nice dimsum behind our hotel - Yoke Fook Moon.  Apparently, according to our host, he said the local usually dont go to Foh San Dim Sum which is supposed to be the best of the best.  Other than the fact that it is perpectually crowded, the dimsum is in fact, so-so only.  So most local goes to this place we went.  My verdict: Yummy!!!

We checked out after breakfast and on our way home, we bought some famous Ipoh Salted Chicken home.  :) And that, concluded our 2d/1n in Ipoh - Ipoh Nga Choy Kai, clubbing, Yook Fook Moon Dim Sum & Salted Chicken.

The next day, met up with Terri for a light lunch at this cute little cafe called 'The Teapot Cafe' to pass her the completed batik stuff which I so kancheong went and collected the moment we got back from Ipoh the previous day. :p  Excited mah.... lols....  The interior of this little cafe is decorate with lots of cute little teapots of different sizes and makes.  I dont remember much details of their menu, but I remembered I had quiche for lunch at it is pretty yummy.

Met up for dinner with a bunch of friends at Modesto for dinner two days later to celebrate two pretty girlfriends' birthday.  All I remembered was, the traffic was horrendous that day.  A part of the city center's road was closed up in conjunction with the Formula 1 event.
From Modesto, we hopped over to Aloha to chill a little.  In fact, that was the main highlight that night.  Though the crowd in Aloha are of more 'mature' age group, we decided to chill there all because it was ladies' night that night.  Their ladies' night promotion was, every 5 ladies group get 1 free bottle from a range of hard liquors.  Cant remember the list though.

There are rules to it.  Foreign passport are not eligible and only 1 bottle per group of girls.  Since there were only 4 of us, and one of us was holding foreign passport, we were not entitle to it (only 3 eligible ladies).  Anyway, in the end, halfway through the night, we team up with another two ladies from another group and got ourselves a free bottle of Hennessy.  Lols... blardy drunkards...!  Of course we didnt finish it.  Only drank a quarter of it and passed the whole bottle to the girls next table.

Tried to capture the lightings with different techniques on my camera and the girls pretend seeing some kind of alien lightings...lols... very cooperative.

Us, one for the album.  Somehow I dont have picture of the whole group.

That's me and my sweetheart who looks like trying very hard to stay awake.  I love how I look in this photo... turqoise is my new favourite colour :)

After Aloha, we took a stroll back to KLCC to collect our car.  It was just after drizzle.  The weather was cool and nice.  So romantic hor...hehehehe... Along the way, we saw people setting up huge Michael Schumaker (I seriously dunno how to spell his name... Shoe Maker?) billboard in front of our twin towers.  Saw a replica Formula 1 car in the lobby of the tower too.  Nice..

The next few days after Aloha, I left for HCM with my mom for holiday :)  That one, already updated. :)

The first weekend after I got back from HCM, went to Seremban for Hakka Yong Tau Foo.  From there, we touge back to KL thru the Kuala Klawang route.  Pssstt... when I took over the wheel, I was the last. :p

We gathered at the Shell Petrol Kiosk right after Sg Besi toll at 7:30am and from there, we set off.

Arrived in Seremban 2.  A group picture.

These are the yummy Hakka Yong Tau Foo we went for at 8:30am!  Verdict: Nice.  Filling made of minced pork mixed with fish instead of those white colour fish ball texture.  No, I dont know exactly where it is... so cant help you :p
The aftermath.

There were plenty to see all the way touge-ing from Seremban thru Kuala Klawang.  Plenty of cyclists.  Some goats, cows.  Old buildings too.  Overall it was a good drive...  There will certainly be more to come now that my car is finally back in action :)

Then come Wednesday night again, headed down to Zouk with some friends to finish up an existing bottle in Phuture.  From Phuture we went over to Velvet and ended up with another bottle to finish. Long story to that one.  Some Hongkies Tourists we met passed us the whole bottle cause they'll be leaving the next day.  We supposed to leave at a certain pre-set time but ended up only leaving 2 hours after that...lols.... Definately not going back there for time being.  :p

And finally, last Saturday, though a little late, but it was better late than never right?  Took a day trip down to JB to pray my dad for ChengBeng.  While we were there, visited my grandma too (dad's mom).  She is very healthy and strong (which is good).  Anyway, it was a good trip despite a little tiring.

That pretty much concluded more or less everything.... goodnight... Catching a flight in couple of hours time.  Till then... tata!
