The Weekend Mom Was Here...

... and we did all these.  A long overdue post.  Remember the weekend mom was here with tonnes of socks for that 'Socks for Japan Drive'?  Her 2d/1n trip ended up being a  3d/2n trip :) and we did some stuff together.

Brought her to Foundry cause wanted mom to try their wacky cake (as per Enzo's words).  We had brunch there.  It was 'nasi lemak rendang ayam' for the husband and I, 'chicken chop' for Flor and 'chicken cordon bleu' for mom. (nasi lemak = rice cooked in coconut milk)
We all enjoyed our food so much.  The total bill came to about RM100+.  Pretty alright for 4 mains, 3 drinks, 3 cakes!
But what mom enjoyed most was the 'Vanilla Mille Crepe'.  One bite into it and she went, "I can finish this piece by myself" (erm, we were supposed to share?)... hahaha... and she went on discussing with Flor how it was baked.
And said that come her birthday, she don't mind having mille crepe for her birthday (ermm?).  Lols...  :)  I am happy when she enjoyed the food I brought her to.

We went shopping at Uniqlo after that and she found some stuff that she really fancy and had a great time.  That evening, we had dinner at Enzo's.  The food were yummillicious.  Mom kept saying that she was very full and yet she still managed for dessert.  But who can resists Enzo's dessert?!  Hahahaha...
Headed down to Modesto after dinner.  Wanted to show mom the salsa scene in KL.  It  is afterall, part of my life.  We got there pretty early.  No, actually the crowd seems to be coming in later and later these days.  The dance floor will only start filling up after midnight.  We used to go at 10pm and be back slightly past midnight.  Nowadays, we will probably be the only ones there between that time. :p  Since we were early, we camwhored a little.  Lols... Check out mom's blue top which she just gotten that afternoon.  She looks good in them!  And my little dress, with black sequinne top and leopard spot frills below, which I bought from Singapore some years back, and I always must stressed, cost only S$9.50 (RM20+ or US$7+). :p
The husband and his mom-in-law.
Florence & I with mom.
Mom on her 'fatt hao' mode (vain mode).  We were having so much fun snapping away until an ass*ole sitting like 100m away came over to tell us our flash is disturbing him.  Ok fine.  The crowd has started to fill in anyway.  :p  We danced a little, introduce mom to some close friends, chit chatted a little and left at about 12ish I think.
On way home, the husband decided to take us to supper.  Yeah, men eats all the time.  Lols... So now you know why I seems to be putting on weight (besides the happy hours).  Hehehe... We went to our favourite 'lok lok' stall in Solaris.  Favourite cause I never really a big fan of 'lok lok' cause I felt it is very unhygienic with everyone sharing the same boiling pot.  Some irresponsibe clown might double dip.  The owner of this particular van is extreme particular about clowns like that. That's what I like about it. :)
For those of you overseas and not knowing what I am blabbering about, 'lok lok' actually means 'dip dip'. Same technic as 'steamboat'.  Just dip your food into boiling pot and wait for it to cook.  These lok lok stalls are actually converted vans.
The back portion of the van has been modified to fit trays of food on display, boiling pots, as well as bbq grill.  Neat huh!
Different food have different prices and they are colour coded on the stick.  Just like how sushi are with their different plate's colour!
And here are the prices.  Colourless stick = RM2/stick.  Green stick = RM1.80/stick. :)
And they do house parties too.  They charge a flat rate of RM750+ for food enough for 30pax.  Anything additional will be charged separately.  I think it is a fair rate.  Save us the trouble of having to prepare food and all.  And guests can have fun lok lok-ing or grilling their food.  After the party, the mess will just be driven away.  Cool huh...Lols.

I managed to 'interview' the owner on one of the nights we were there.  Basically he runs the biz on commission only.  Meaning, the van, the food, everything belongs to the boss.  His earning would  be based on how much he sold and it is his cost to pay off all other misc fees such as gangster fees, coffee fees (bribe), summons (if any).
Anyway, we went on enjoying our food.  Just as we were about to go, a fight broke out across the street.  The four of us were like sitting there, yummies in hand, waiting for some real drama.  Unfortunately for us, there was none.  It was just shoving and pushing and yelling.  After that, dispersed.  No fight.  What a disappointment. :p

Cute pics. You and your mom have a lot of physical similarities and both beautiful! I love how she decided to finish the cake without even asking if you wanted some. Too funny. It DID look really good!
